Wether you have a fish and chips shop or you are an accountant we can design that eye catching professional design to enhance your business. Our designers look at all aspects of your business from letterhead to your signage.
We take into account the type of business you are running, who your target market is and formulate a personal design around that. Not all artwork is appropriate for all target markets and we take great pride in giving a whollistic design.
Creating Your Own Artwork
There is a difference between artwork done by an amateur and a professional. The value of the printing to you as a business owner is not in the paper and ink but rather in the message and how it is conveyed. We have found many business owners are reluctant to pay for design and we believe this is a fundamental mistake as this is the means by which they will turn their investment into cash. The design tells people you are a professional business. If however you want to create your own artwork it is imperitive that you follow these simple rules so your finished printing will have a professional look about it.
Our preferred file format is PDF and all fonts should be converted to outlines / curves or at the very least embedded. We do accept documents like word, publisher, powerpoint but it should be pointed out that these do not transfer well onto computers that didn't create them, hence we strongly advise you to convert these types of files to PDF so they will maintain the appearance you intended. We can alter the document if it does not tranfer correctly, but a fee will be incurred for this service. There are some very good free PDF creators which you can download of the internet. We have used PDF 995 which works well.
If your artwork needs to go the edge of a print job you must allow for 3mm bleed. Bleed is making the back ground colour or image of the card extend 3mm bigger than the finished size. This is necessary as when it comes to the final trimming of the job it will prevent a white line appearing along the edge of the image should the trim be fractionally out. Text should not be closer than 3mm to edge of the finished size, once again this is to safeguard the appearance when trimming.
All colours need be in CMYK not pantone unless the job will be printed as a spot colour. All images must be turned to CMYK and be 300dpi in resolution. Lower resolutions could result in pixelization in the final job which will take away from a professional appearance. It needs to be noted here that images loose some of their vibrance when converting from RGB to CMYK so you will need to put your image into a photo editing software so you can brighten the colours up again. If you have to have a particular colour you should use a pantone to CMYK colour chart.
